PureBites encourages you to look at its ingredients on its packages. All its dog and cat treats are made with only one to three ingredients. PureBites are 100% pure, natural and grain-free. The treats lock in the aroma, texture and freshness that dogs and cats crave. PureBites features human-grade ingredients that are sourced and made in the USA for a taste dogs and cats love.
PureBites Freeze Dried Cat Treats are easy to digest without any added preservatives. Each treat averages about one or two calories apiece and is high in protein. These treats are made using a delicate freeze-drying process that preserves the nutritional integrity of raw, fresh whole food. Only water is removed, preserving all the characteristics and natural nutrition of its ingredients. PureBites’ treats are ideal for cats with health issues or pets that are overweight, diabetic, have allergies, gastrointestinal disorders or are on a restricted diet.
PureBites’ new Freeze Dried Cat Treat, Ocean Medley, is made with only three ingredients: wild-caught human-grade sockeye salmon, yellowfin tuna and shrimp. All three are great sources of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids for healthy skin and coat.
We tested Ocean Medley on our resident Siamese, Obi. True to his nosy nature, Obi quickly began inspecting the package. Unfortunately, we had to wait a day to give him any, as he had coughed up a hairball earlier in the day and was being fed a special dinner to help his stomach. Of course, that didn’t stop Obi from having an instantaneous interest in the treats and running off with the package in his mouth, resulting in a chase around the house. The package was eventually retrieved, and our only regret was not getting the moment on film.
The next day, Obi was able to indulge in the PureBites treats, and he was more than excited. He once again performed his thorough meezer inspection. Upon tearing open the package, we immediately smelled the aroma of fish. While we wouldn’t categorize it as a great smell, it was fresh and easily enticed Obi. He was putting his paws on our arms and trying to stick his head into the bag to grab a treat himself (apparently we are too slow for His Highness).
We gave him one of each of the medley treats, both on the floor and from our hands. Obi happily gobbled up the fish ingredients, but surprisingly was not a huge fan of the shrimp (we expected this to be his favorite considering his reactions to when we make shrimp for ourselves). Nevertheless, he enjoys two of the three treat flavors in the Ocean Medley mix, and he was licking his lips and begging for more. He even followed us when we put the bag away in the closet and stared at it on the shelf until we could distract him with one of his beloved toys.
Obi is definitely a big fan of the PureBites treats. We must acknowledge that some of the treat pieces in the bag are big and had to be broken down to smaller pieces for Obi, as he has difficulties with any food that is too large. We advise that you observe your pets when giving them a larger treat piece.
