The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing animals who are abused, neglected or abandoned. They create lasting relationships between people and animals through adoption, shelter pet behavior programs and by making available world-class veterinary care. These furbabies are still looking for their forever homes this year.
Just like his name, ten-year-old Cookie is so sweet and extremely hard to resist. He can be a little shy at first, but with a few rubs, he will come out of his shell and crave more attention. Once he is settled, Cookie will be so comfortable and happy with his new family. Unfortunately, his previous owner ended up being allergic and now, Cookie hopes to find a forever home where he receives all your love each and every day.
To adopt: Apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave. headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Lady Asha (ID#A655695)
Lady Asha or Lady A, as we call her at the Ranch, is a sweet senior gal. She is looking for a nice retirement home. Lady A can’t eat traditional hay. Due to her advanced age she doesn’t have many teeth remaining to grind up the hay. She maintains a hefty body condition on senior grain and chopped up forage sources, such as beet pulp and alfalfa chops. Lady A is on a daily medication for Cushings and will require daily medication.
Lady A has been used in beginner and intermediate walk/trot lessons at the ranch for children as young as seven-years-old. She is a kind, forgiving mare who stays in her gaits well. Her consistency has been beneficial to our lesson kids as they learn to ride the sitting and posting trot. She is responsive and willing. She rides well for both adults and kids. She is confident riding in and out of the arena and takes good care of her riders. She is happy to work and would love a family who could benefit from all she has to teach her riders.

She enjoys going for walks and playing fetch, but she also loves a life of leisure, curling up and cuddling close with anyone who will pet her endlessly.

As a puppy, Moriah needs the gentle, yet firm guidance of someone who will provide lots of mental and physical stimulation. She already knows how to sit on command and would like to learn new skills through additional obedience work. Due to Moriah’s size and temperament, she is better suited for adults and older children who will spend lots of time with her and be consistent with commands. Through adequate training and exercise, Moriah’s new family will reap the rewards of sharing a home with a fiercely devoted majestic Mastiff who will love them forever.
