The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing animals who are abused, neglected or abandoned. They create lasting relationships between people and animals through adoption, shelter pet behavior programs and by making available world-class veterinary care. These are just some of the new adorable faces looking for their forever homes.
Acer (ID#A426505) Acer might be eleven-years-old but not to worry – instead of yelling at kids to get off the lawn, he’s much more likely to invite them in! That’s because this funny Dachshund mix is truly a young-dog at heart. Acer is energetic and playful, and his tail is always wagging whenever his human pals come to visit him. His two favorite things to do in life are to play with squeaky toys and snuggle up close on the couch. If you’re still not sold, he still has a few tricks up his paw: he knows how to sit, stay, and will come to you when called. Acer is the perfect best friend in a sixteen-pound package! Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Haley (ID#A478859) Haley is in a special point in her life where her idea of a good time is a little less ‘extreme mountain biking’ and a little more ‘quiet park bench in the fall’. That might seem a little specific, but it’s true! There’s nothing this nine-year-old German Shepherd mix would enjoy more than being with her special people in the park watching the leaves turn red. Haley enjoys taking life slow and quiet and would love to find a family without young children so that the rest of her life is the best of her life. Haley walks politely on a leash, and while at the Humane Society of Missouri has shown a preference for using the bathroom outside.
