The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing animals who are abused, neglected or abandoned. They create lasting relationships between people and animals through adoption, shelter pet behavior programs and by making available world-class veterinary care. These animals are still looking for their forever homes this year.

Her favorite activities are daily walks and romps in the yard with her human friends. When he isn’t lounging around, he loves playing with stuffed animals, or going on short walks around the block. When it comes to obedience and housetraining, he already knows how to come on command and prefers to do his business outside. Before coming to HSMO, he came from a home with a cat, so he is open to sharing space with some new furry friends. He has also been around children, but he prefers a slow introduction around little ones. He can be a little shy at first, but once he is settled, Oscar will be so comfortable and happy in his new forever home. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Vivian (A659474) Vivian is a 19-year-old quarter-type mare who is friendly & kind. She came to the ranch last August severely emaciated & suffering from over grown hooves, a heavy load of external & internal parasites & severe dental neglect. While at the ranch, she has gained over 200 lbs, been treated for her parasites, feet trimmed, & teeth floated, which is an annual procedure performed by a vet to file down sharp points & uneven surfaces on a horse’s chewing surface. Now, she is ready for her new home. We discovered that Vivian has previous training for riding. She would be a great kids’ horse & she neck reins. She is even confident when riding outside & on the trails. She is a solid walk/trot mare, but due to some arthritis, the vet does not recommend her for any athletic activities. We recommend Vivian for an active retirement home where she will still be lightly ridden. She is ready for her own loving forever family. She is a nicely built Thoroughbred with a large shoulder & tons of potential. She is a forward ride with a strong work ethic. Miss Fark will do best in a home that can keep her in work 4-5 days a week under an experienced rider, or an intermediate rider working with a trainer.
