The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing animals who are abused, neglected or abandoned. They create lasting relationships between people and animals through adoption, shelter pet behavior programs and by making available world-class veterinary care. These are still looking for their forever homes this year.
Jackson (ID#A666337) Jackson is a fun-loving one and a half year old American Eskimo Dog mix. Jackson is just a year and a half old, and he’s ready for adventure with his new family! Jackson walks nicely on leash and he already knows how to sit on command, but he would love to enhance his education with additional training. He still has that happy-go-lucky, playful puppy personality! Combine that with a super-cute curlicue tail and oh-so-soft fur, you’ve got a new BFF all wrapped up in a darling little package. To adopt: Apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave Headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Marcel (ID#A666301) Marcel has one of the softest coats you’ll ever have the pleasure of petting! He’s just two years old and he’s used to being a house bunny – he’s litter box trained, he enjoys being petted and brushed, and he’d love a family to call his own! Marcel is independent yet playful, and you’ll love watching him explore and clown around. Share a salad with Marcel – he loves spinach and carrots! To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Sasha (ID#A666406) Sasha is a big, beautiful Great Pyrenees mix. She’s just eight months old, but she has a laid-back personality that combines with fun-loving puppy to make a wonderful temperament. Sasha is up for anything – from going for walks to explore the neighborhood, to hanging out inside with some fun toys and a family to play with her. Sasha could benefit from classes to help her bond with her owner and help her become the perfect pet. She’s a loving dog with a heart as pure as her bright white coat. She will surely become a delightful part of her new family. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Left (ID#A663827) Left is quietly searching for a mellow, peaceful forever home. He was rescued from a horrible situation late last year, and perhaps that experience has stuck with him. Left can be shy in new situations, and he’ll need a patient family who will let him open up on his own time. If you sit with Left quietly, it’s easy to tell all he wants is to be loved – he’ll slowly make his way toward you and let you pet him. Then, he’ll roll over, purring and kneading. Left also has the most adorable yet barely audible meow. If you’re looking to make a huge difference for a deserving shelter pet, Left will surely give you all the love he has in return. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Cody (ID#A666238) Cody’s soulful eyes and adorable wrinkled face will melt your heart! This Anatolian Shepherd mix is just 6 months old and he’s all puppy in a big boy body. Cody will need a family who will help him grow to be a very good boy through classes and training, exercise and fun play sessions. He also loves a good walk to stretch those long legs! Cody would love a forever home where he can be a playful, goofy puppy and a loving companion for the rest of his life. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Roxanne (ID#A665906) Roxanne likes to play with squeaky toys and balls and whatever else you give her. She will sit and wait for you to throw her ball and then run like the wind to catch it. She bounds with joy and her tail never stops wagging. She smiles with that beautiful Pointer mix brown and white face and certainly acts younger than her seven years. Roxanne would be the perfect companion for an active family who wants to take her wherever they go. She looks forward to taking long walks in her new neighborhood where she can sniff and explore her new surroundings. She wants to meet all your friends and family. Her everflowing sweetness will certainly win them all over. She would make a great mascot for Little League this year. And she might just think she is one of your children when it is time for homework or bedtime stories. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Lita (ID#A665999) Lita is looking for a forever home where she can be the diva she was born to be! Lita would prefer a home without young children – she’s a quiet girl and kids are just too much for her. She loves going for walks and having play sessions in the yard, but she’d also like to be curled up on the couch while you marathon your favorite shows. Lita is 11 years old, and she’d love a forever family to spoil her now, and through her golden years. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Venus (ID#A665048) Venus is an adorable pot bellied pig who loves people! Whenever you approach her enclosure, Venus start snorting and squealing in excitement. She’s a petite girl right now, but she does have the potential to get bigger – pigs don’t reach their full size until they’re around three years old. Venus would love to be a house pig – she was kennel trained and she knows how to use a litter box, although she will likely need a refresher in her new home. If you’re looking for a fun and unique pet, Venus is your girl! To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Quincy (ID#A658679) We believe Quincy is a former roping horse who would love to find an active retirement home. He very much so enjoys the company of other horses and will happily lead or follow along the trail. He neck reins and he is responsive to leg and voice. We believe Quincy could be ridden by kids, but at this time he needs an experienced adult handler to remind him of his manners. Quincy is doing great in our training program, and he’ll be a wonderful partner when you’re ready to hit the trails this spring. To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Tina + Lucky (ID# A666501 + A666500) Tina and Lucky are two-year-old guinea pigs looking for a forever home! This adorable pair does live together, but they don’t necessarily need to be adopted together – if you’re only looking for one guinea pig, or if you just want a buddy for your guinea pig at home, please consider Lucky or Tina! They are both friendly and social girls. They are accustomed to being petted and gently held. Tina and Lucky love their fresh veggies, so their new family will need to be sure to provide them with a variety of veggies, along with enrichment toys and lots of love and attention. These two will keep you entertained as they explore and play, whether you adopt just one, or both! To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org Windy (ID#A662615) January is Adopt-a-Rescued Bird month and Windy would love to find a forever home! Windy is an adult guinea hen. She currently lives with a turkey and a chicken, and with proper introduction, we think she could become part of an existing flock. Guineas will eat all the mosquitoes and bugs, around your house, and even small rodents! Even Windy’s call can be enough to ward off predators. Windy would love a forever home with an experienced bird lover! To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO. Hours and directions at www.hsmo.org
