They have a championship 36-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman, Har-Tru tennis courts, and an onsite spa. Expect a high-end price tag for the pet fee of $150 per stay. Places to Eat
The Dock at Crayton Cove serves seafood, salads, sandwiches, steaks, and pasta. This restaurant invites pets and their owners to sit outside on the patio overlooking the Gordon River. They even offer special yappy hours during the summer to encourage people to bring their pets. Stop for a burger along the bay at The Boathouse, where they offer pet-friendly seating on the patio with a view overlooking Naples Bay and the servers will bring your pup a bowl of water. There’s an authentic French bistro located in the heart of Old Naples in the waterfront neighborhood of Crayton Cove on Naples Bay called Chez Boet that has been welcoming well-behaved, leashed dogs since 2003 on its dog-friendly, covered terrace. In addition to offering award-winning, locally-sourced seasonal French cuisine, they make their own organic dog treats for canine diners. Be sure to check out Mango’s Dockside Bistro, a waterside restaurant that is worth the 25-mile drive from Naples to Marco Island. They welcome dogs at outdoor tables shaded by umbrellas and offer a dog menu with three options for Fido: chopped bacon, chopped grilled chicken, or Captain’s Crunch, which is a mixture of chicken and bacon.
Contact dog-friendly Sweetwater Adventures to have a rental paddleboard or kayak delivered to you so you can go on an excursion down the backwaters of Naples Bay and the Gordon River. Or, hop on one of the Naples Water Tours, where well-behaved dogs are welcome with advance reservations for the dolphin watching tour, sightseeing tour, and sunset tour to a private island. Take a day trip to Keewaydin Island, an eight-mile long barrier island along the coast between Naples and Marco Island. Because it’s a conservation area, dogs must remain leashed during your time on the beach. For some off-leash fun, you could head over to Naples Dog Park. The park is within walking distance of downtown and boasts 2½ acres of green space. The park has separate off-leash areas for large and small dogs, benches, water fountains for both dogs and humans, a shaded area, dog washing stations, poop-bag dispensers, waste cans, and plenty of running room. If your dog wants some off-leash splash adventures, return to the mainland and head north to the Lee County Dog Beach, located on the south end of Lovers Key in Fort Myers Beach.
Owners of pampered pooches will want to check out Pucci & Catana, Naples’ luxury pet boutique. Peruse through pet clothing and accessories, dog treats, organic spa products, and designer pet collars and leashes. Browse through some of the biggest names in designer pet products, including Roberto Cavalli, Gucci Pet, Burberry Pet, BowHaus NYC, Dean & Tyler, and Unleashed Life. They also host charity dog events regularly. Visit Top Dog Kitchen with Fido to stock up on human grade, 100% pure meat dog treats made in the USA with USDA meats that are all gluten- and grain-free. Choose from dehydrated meat treats, antler chews, baked treats, and more. Give For Footed Friends, a Naples health dog food store, a call before you leave for your trip, and the staff will have your order waiting for you at your lodging when you arrive.
If your dog needs to be cleaned and fluffed, look no further than Groomingdales of Naples. Need to go somewhere where you can’t bring your dog? Check out Camp Bow Wow, which offers a play-all-day environment, and A Dog’s Dream Daycare, which provides social play areas as well as comfy couches and crates if your dog needs to extend their stay overnight. If you have to visit a veterinarian, call the experienced Town & Country Animal Hospital.
